Wilbur

Wilber and Scott saw a Wednesday’s Child posting and were inspired to revive their efforts to start a family.

After fulfilling all the requirements, they began attending matching events for older children and sets of siblings. That’s where they found Giovanni, Genesis, and Angel.

Scott and Wilber knew immediately that these three were meant to be theirs, and the adoption process moved swiftly. They officially became a family about a year later.

“We stay in touch with Giovanni, Genesis, and Angel’s biological family. They primarily speak Spanish, so it has been important for us to make sure our kids keep up with their first language.”

“The most rewarding aspect of choosing to adopt kids is just being a dad. It’s probably the hardest thing I have ever done, and I want to make sure that other families know that there is no shelf life on love.”

Carla

Carla and her husband Cesar immigrated to the US from Chile. They tried to conceive naturally for many years but were unable, so they decided to foster/adopt with the hopes of expanding their family.

Thomas was placed with Carla and Cesar in November 2017. Thomas was prenatally substance-exposed and has some developmental delays – Carla and Cesar were able to ensure he received the clinical care he needs.

Last year, Thomas’ biological mother gave birth to another child, who was also placed in Carla and Cesar’s home. Thomas has since been adopted, and his parents are excited to officially adopt his brother.

“I am passionate about sharing this opportunity with others to inspire them to provide homes to children and engage new families interested in starting their own adoption journey,” said Carla.
